Over the past year, GRC has been busy working with lobbyists, stakeholders, and legislators. Our largest accomplishments have been:
- The introduction of SB 196: Global Signature Authority, sponsored by Senator Roegner. We have participated in and followed extensive interested-party conversations with various stakeholders, including a one-on-one sit-down for collaboration with the Ohio State Medical Association (OSMA) to garner support.
- Collaborated with our reimbursement committee and the Ohio Department of Health (ODH) regarding the timeline removal of physician signature requirement on the DNR form following the law that passed in July 2022. We anticipate an updated form between July and September 2024.
- Held multiple meetings with stakeholders throughout the year to discuss upcoming legislation. Stakeholders include but are not limited to:
- AARP
- Ohio Hospital Association
- Ohio Behavioral Health Council
- Buckeye Institute
- Several State Legislators
- Collaborated with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy on rule changes to OAC 4729:1-3-02 to allow pharmacists to recognize APRN orders for administration of certain immunizations.
