On April 24, 2024, the second testimony for Senate Bill 196: Global Signature Authority took place in the Senate Health Committee. SB 196, if passed into law, will allow APRNs throughout the state of Ohio to sign important patient documents that are within the APRN’s scope of practice. We appreciate AARP‘s support for Ohio APRNs and the recognition that APRNs are highly capable healthcare professionals. We would also like to thank Summer Davis, Co-Chair for OAAPN’s Government Relations Committee, for advocating for Ohio APRNs. Through your OAAPN membership, OAAPN is able to advocate for Ohio APRNs. Please consider joining OAAPN as a member to continue supporting advocacy for APRNs.

Eric Snyder, President-Elect for OAAPN, provides personal testimony in support of SB 196: Global Signature Authority, during a Senate Health Committee meeting on April 24, 2024. Eric’s testimony provides a personal example of how the current law surrounding an APRN’s ability to sign paperwork negatively impacts patient experience and delays care.
If you are an Ohio APRN and have a similar story to Eric’s, please share your story to info@OAAPN.org. Your personal story will help advocate for SB 196.
