SB 196, Global Signature Authority, was introduced on the Ohio Senate Floor by Senator Roegner on February 28, 2024. The primary goal of SB 196 is to remove outdated policy that prevents APRNs in the state of Ohio from completing and signing paperwork for their patients that is within the APRN’s scope of practice.
OAAPN has been working tirelessly to advocate for Ohio APRNs. Senator Roegner recognized the vital role that OAAPN and board members Eric Snyder and Summer Davis had in the creation of SB 196 during her testimony to the Ohio Senate Health Committee. To watch the full testimony, please click here.
We are excited about the introduction of this important piece of legislation to the Ohio Senate Health Committee and are hopeful it will be passed into law in the near future.
