2024 Northwest Region Conference

Registration is now open for OAAPN‘s Northwest Region Conference being held Friday, March 8, 2024, at Bowling Green State University. Come earn up to 7.5 CEs while enjoying a day of networking and camaraderie with your APRN peers.New this year, we will be offering a virtual, live-stream option. While the benefits of in-person attendance are abundant, we recognize the demanding schedules of those in our healthcare community. If you are unable to attend in person to enjoy our always popular sundae bar, exhibitor visits, and time with colleagues, we don’t want you to also miss out on the amazing educational sessions such as concussion care, ENT, and cognitive assessments.

8:00am-9:00am Minds Matter: Concussion Care and Considerations

This presentation will provide learners with a greater understanding of current trends in concussion diagnosis and management. Upon completion of the presentation, learners will be able to define concussion and identify common signs and symptoms of concussion (including red flag symptoms). We will touch on national legislative efforts regarding sports concussion and guidelines from the National Federation of State High School Associations. Learners will recognize appropriate testing for concussion: sideline, emergency room, and in the office. They will be able to identify symptomatic and medical management of complex concussion symptoms. Participants will also understand the intricacies of concussion recovery and rehabilitation; including facilitating referrals and returning to school, sports, and work.
