Jamie Elenz Amazing APRN

Jamie ElenzI have had the pleasure of knowing Jamie Elenz through her work at the Columbiana County Health Department for over 15 years with collaboration on our first Vaccine for Children Program. She has not only worked in public health at the Columbiana County Health Department for 24 years but has been their Public Health Epidemiologist since 2009. She most recently achieved her Master of Science in Nursing from Franciscan University, was named the Medical Services Director for The Columbiana County Health Department, and serves as their Family Nurse Practitioner.

She currently oversees the nursing department, holds a women’s health clinic, and oversees the public health emergency response. She has served as the COVID Response Medical Lead since the beginning of the pandemic. Her roles in this title include: administration, collaborating with county agencies, schools, and prisons, reporting (accepting positive lab reports, quarantine and isolation), management (nursing staff and Covid disease trackers), and vaccine efforts (mass vaccination and special needs clinics). She does all this while continuing to function as the epidemiologist for Columbiana, Jefferson, and Harrison Counties.

I am so thankful that we have her. I have worked with her frequently over the recent months and am blown away by her dedication. There could not be a better example of an Amazing Ohio APRN.

Jamie was nominated by Sara Pease, APRN-CNP. Thank you Jamie for all that you do for your community, your patients and for APRN practice in Ohio!
