Mary Jane Maloney is not only an amazing APRN but she is also the Director of Government Relations and former two-time President for the Ohio Association of Advanced Practice Nurses.

As a resident of the Cleveland area, Mary Jane has traveled to Columbus several times per month over the last decade to advocate for the role of APRNs in Ohio and healthcare access for all Ohioans. Whether testifying at the statehouse or meeting with legislators urging their support, Mary Jane has never hesitated in this mission.

She has been instrumental in authoring many legislative initiatives. After passage of House Bill 216 in 2016, she thanked legislators who gave their support but also informed them that APRNs were not done.

Within the next calendar year, she authored her most recent bill, now known as House Bill 177, which would remove the mandatory standard care arrangement.

Mary Jane’s impact is limitless. Without her knowledge and expertise, Ohio would not have an APRN Advisory Committee, we may still have the 36-page formulary and mental health APRNs would not be permitted to “pink slip.”

We admire Mary Jane’s commitment to the advancement of our profession and her tireless hard work for APRNs in Ohio. She truly is an amazing APRN and advocate for our profession.
