Ohio Pediatric Psychiatry Access Line (OPPAL) Training
Tuesday, June 24, 2025 | 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Online Webinar
In July 2025, the Ohio Pediatric Psychiatry Access Line (OPPAL) will launch, offering primary care providers in Ohio access to a telephone helpline for same day, convenient peer to peer consultation with child psychiatrists. Upon launch OPPAL services will be available for physicians or providers with prescribing authority in Ohio who provide primary care for children and adolescents (through age 21).
A training on OPPAL registration and resources will be held June 24 from 12 – 1 pm to answer common questions and increase awareness among Ohio primary care providers.
Topics will provide:
• How to register for OPPAL as a provider or administrator
• Introduction to the OPPAL website and connections to existing resources, such as Minds Matter and OhioRISE
• Review of what providers can expect when calling OPPAL
Learn more, register and access OPPAL enrollment resources now at: https://ohioaap.org/oppal
The launch of OPPAL is the culmination of work by the Ohio Departments of Health and Medicaid in partnership with the Ohio Colleges of Medicine Government Resource Center (GRC) and Ohio AAP. Over the next several months, initial data collected from calls to OPPAL will be used to continue refining the service to better serve Ohio’s primary care providers.
Please contact Hayley Southworth at hsouthworth@ohioaap.org for more details on Ohio AAP’s work with the OPPAL Program.
The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) provided financial support for OPPAL. The award provided 51% of total costs and totaled $1,327,033. The contents are those of the author. They may not reflect the policies of HRSA, HHS, or the U.S. Government.
