AANP Award Winner Janine Galeski DNP, MA, APRN, FNP‑BC, ACHPN‑BC

Congratulations to AANP Ohio Award Winner, Janine Galeski, DNP, MA, APRN, FNP‑BC, ACHPN‑BC!

OAAPN is proud to celebrate Janine Galeski as this year’s AANP Ohio Award Winner, a recognition she describes as energizing, meaningful, and deeply connected to the purpose that first pulled her into nursing.

For Janine, this honor reflects her commitment to advancing clinical excellence, strengthening APP teams, and elevating the role of advanced practice nursing across Ohio. She sees it not only as a personal milestone but as an affirmation of the high standards she sets as a clinician, educator, and leader.

Janine’s career journey is a remarkable representation of impact and purpose. After beginning in international business, she transitioned into nursing with a desire to “do good while doing well.” From welcoming new life as a Labor and Delivery RN, to supporting patients across a range of care as an FNP, to now easing suffering at the end of life as a palliative NP, Janine has experienced moments of profound meaning. She has held both clinical and academic leadership roles. These roles included being an Advanced Practice Lead over multiple service lines in two regional hospitals and Assistant Director of the MN program at CWRU, returning to the very program where she began her nursing career.

Additionally, Janine has been an engaged OAAPN member, valuing the organization’s role as the voice of APRNs in Ohio. She emphasizes the importance of advocacy, collaboration, and connecting with like‑minded practitioners. These were all elements that helped shape her growth as a new NP and continue to influence her leadership today. OAAPN congratulates Janine on this well‑deserved recognition and celebrates her ongoing commitment to advancing the APRN profession.
