The 2021 OAAPN Statewide Conference was held October, 21-23, at the Hyatt Regency and Convention Center in Downtown Columbus. Hundreds of APRNs attended the Statewide Conference, representing all four specialties from across Ohio. The theme of this year’s conference was “Linking arms in education, practice, and policy”.
Attendees of the Conference had the opportunity to attend educational sessions and earn up to 18 Continuing Education hours, listen to keynote speakers, participate in hands-on workshops, engage in networking opportunities, and have fun with industry colleagues at Casino Night. We also celebrated a few of our members with our OAAPN Leadership Awards and Scholarships.
On Thursday Night, we enjoyed some time for fun with colleagues at the Casino Night, with winners getting to choose from an assortment of fantastic prizes. For those who were not so lucky to win big at Casino Night, there also was a Virtual Silent Auction that members were encouraged to participate in, even remotely for those who could not attend.
Friday morning kicked off with our awards and scholarship presentations. This year, we gave away one DNP and three NP Scholarships:
- Teri Lieser, DNP Recipient, Kent State University
- Kristina Lester, Ursuline College
- Emily Ziemer, University of Toledo
- Rachel Hartong, Walsh University
Our OAAPN Leadership Awards were presented to the following for demonstrating Excellence in an APRN Role!
2021 OAAPN Preceptor of the Year: Rachel Vanek
2021 OAAPN Award of Excellence: Lauren Brister
2021 OAAPN Advocate of the Year: Jeana Singleton
