Doug Caserta

Retired from the US Air Force, Doug Caserta has been an RN for over 20 years, a Family Nurse Practitioner for 9 years, and received his Master’s Degree in Nursing as an FNP from Indiana Wesleyan University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Psychology from Park University.  He works as a Home Based Care Family Nurse Practitioner at the Veteran’s Administration Hospital in Dayton, Ohio, and is a State of Ohio EMS Instructor and Adjunct Nursing Faculty at Indiana University East.

Doug has been an OAAPN member for more than 10 years, a previous Southwest Regional Director, and OAAPN Treasurer and PAC Chairman. He was also a member of the FPA Committee.  Doug’s favorite part of serving on the board was being able to represent his fellow APRNs.

He says it is important to serve on the board, “because collectively APRNs can get things done since the “voice of many” carries much more weight than just a “few” members.” Without its members, OAAPN cannot exist and accomplish its mission of promoting Advanced Practice Nursing in the State of Ohio.
