OAAPN Celebrates APRN Week
At the Ohio Association of Advanced Practice Nurses, we are celebrating all APRNs during National Nurse Practitioner’s Week, celebrated November 8-14, 2020.
NP Week is a recognition of these exceptional health care professionals and seeks to build awareness of the importance of removing outdated barriers to practice that exist in state law and regulations. This year is particularly special, as it is being celebrated along with the year-long celebration of The International Year of the Nurse and Midwife.
The voice of more than 10,000 APRNs throughout Ohio, OAAPN counts Nurse Practitioners, Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists, Clinical Nurse Specialists, and Certified Nurse Midwives among our members. We believe that there is strength in our numbers, authority in our voice, and influence in our actions. Thus, we celebrate all APRNs this week as part of our efforts to promote the profession of Advanced Practice Nursing.
To celebrate our members, OAAPN will be having some fun on Facebook the week of November 8. Be sure to follow along and participate! There will be questions from OAAPN members posted throughout the week and a random winner will be drawn from the responses in the comments of the post to receive a gift card.
We hope that you will join us in celebrating our APRNs who practice in Ohio, yet have encountered many barriers to their practice. Undue restrictions often keep APRNs from providing the full scope of services that they are trained to offer. Together, we can promote affordable, accessible, quality healthcare for all Ohioans, and attain fair and equitable standards for all of our profession.
