Q: There is less than a year before RN/NP renewal in October 2017. Will we still need 48 hours when the law goes into effect in April?
A: It remains uncertain what the OBON will do this renewal year. OAAPN anticipates that all APRN licenses will need 24 hours of CE which must include 12 hours of Pharmacology. The requirement for RN license renewal is unchanged: 24 hours with one hour in Ohio Nursing Practice Law. The changes in CE requirements from H.B. 216 only increases CE requirements by 12 hours.
