The Committee on Prescriptive Governance (CPG) met on October 17, 2016. OAAPN was present and assisted members with the following:
- Adipex for the purpose of treating obesity/weight loss short term may now be prescribed “in accordance with the SCA.” Previously, it was do not prescribe.
- Methotrexate for the purpose of treating severe rheumatoid arthritis may now be prescribed “in accordance with the SCA.” Previously, it was do not prescribe.
- The CPG reviewed FDA newly approved medications/new indications/warnings. Please follow this LINK to check prescribing determination and the medication change request outcomes.
- Be sure to review the CPG activity and update your Standard Care Arrangement (SCA) if indicated.
The CPG is waiting for the outcome of HB 216 before deciding on whether to continue to useOnline Facts and Comparisons as the formulary database.
