National Nurse Practitioner Week is November 13–19 this year. It is time to celebrate our professional accomplishments while we raise awareness of the extraordinary contributions that nurse practitioners make to the health of our community.
Those actively involved in raising awareness in their communities and educating the public and lawmakers about the role that nurse practitioners have in our health care systems are improving the quality of care that all nurse practitioners provide to their patients in Ohio. An OAAPN membership provides ample opportunities to get involved, including becoming a Key Person (look under the membership tab of website for volunteer app), sharing information from our website, interacting with your state legislators or donating to the OAAPN PAC.
For over 50 years, over 205,000 NPs have been licensed to practice in the United States as exceptional health care providers. National Nurse Practitioner Week is dedicated to celebrate all that we do while reminding lawmakers of the importance of removing outdated barriers to practice and allowing NPs to practice to the full extent of their education and clinical experience. Only then can we promote a higher quality service to the patients that we serve.
To all Ohio NPs, thank you. You have made a positive impact in your communities!
