Terri Miller, Certified Nurse Practitioner, has worked her way up to President of OAAPN’s Board in her four years of membership. She fell into nursing when she discovered a lack of career opportunities in her original field of psychology. Get to know more about our fearless leader, Terri.

Why is House Bill 216 good for Ohio patients?
By allowing APRN’s throughout out Ohio to full extent of their education, training and certification, the passing of this bill will provide Ohioans options for their healthcare.

My mom’s kitchen beats any local restaurant. 

What is your best advice for APRN students and recent college grads looking for their first job?
Work hard, get involved in OAAPN, and treat others with respect and dignity. 

What is one thing you wish you would have known 20 years ago?
Everything you do today affects your tomorrow. 

What are 3 things people don’t know about you and may be surprised to learn?

  1. I have a degree in Psychology and only went in to nursing when I discovered I couldn’t find a job in psychology.
  2. I love to plan parties.
  3. I have an obsession with castles.

What do you love most about your job?
I whole-heartedly enjoy educating the patients and their support people. 

If you were stranded on an island with only three things, what would they be?

  1. My husband, because I feel like I can get through anything with him.
  2. Unlimited water supply.
  3. A snake repellant. I hate snakes.

There is great power in numbers.
