Senate Bill 110, which grants APRNs the authority to delegate to unlicensed medical personnel the ability to administer medications, was signed by the Governor on July 15.  It is not effective for 90 days – October 15, 2015.

Do NOT delegate any medication administration to a non-licensed medical staff member until the law is effective!

OAAPN thanks the Ohio Nurses Association for their strong support and actions in getting this bill passed.  And thanks especially to all of Ohio’s APRNs who, by being members of OAAPN, had a part in improving access to care.  One-by-one we will remove barriers that prevent Ohio APRNs from giving their best when serving the patients in our care.  This is truly worth celebrating!
