APRNs Make Sense for Ohio

   APRNs are licensed health care professionals, and must have a post-graduate degree; pass a national certification exam; participate in internship training and prescribing APRNs participate in externship training; fulfill continuing education requirements on an annual basis; and maintain national certifications and state licensure.

   Every year, Americans make more than 600 million visits to nurse practitioners alone. That number will steadily grow as fewer physicians choose to practice primary care.

   Decades of research indicate that APRNs provide high quality, cost-effective health care services.
4. THEY ARE ACCOUNTABLE
   APRNs are independent, licensed clinicians who, just like physicians, are accountable for the care the provide.
