  • Ohio HB 376 (130th General Assembly) was recently signed into law and provision go into effect March 20, 2015. Health care providers should be aware that the law includes two provisions relating to controlled substances containing buprenorphine used for the purpose of treating drug dependence or addiction.   • Effective February 1, 2015, rule 4729-5-10 of the Ohio Administrative Code, which permits entities (known as Pick-up Stations) to receive patient-specific prescription medication on behalf of the end user/patient, will be amended.   • The FDA and CDC are continuing to investigate multiple instances of Wallcur’s simulated intravenous (IV) saline products being administered to patients.
