As a call to physicians, advanced practice registered nurses and physician assistants, I encourage you to sign up for the ASAM Buprenorphine Course. This course will be taking place during Ohio’s 2017 Opiate Conference: Bridges to Recovery on June 12th and June 13th.

Over the two days, attendees will have the opportunity to receive their DATA 2000 waiver training as well as hear from keynote speakers and various breakout sessions.

Additionally, please note that The Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services has agreed to support a reimbursement of the registration fee for eligible attendees who are able to:

  1. Provide documentation that they have received a DEA Waiver to prescribe Buprenorphine products.
  2. Indicate a willingness to prescribe MAT in their practice setting.

Free CE on Effects of HB 216  for Non-Prescribing APRNs

Sigma Theta Tau/Zeta Theta Tau Chapter is co-sponsoring with the Ohio Nurses Association a FREE LEGAL CE regarding the effect of House Bill 216 on APRNS who do not prescribe/do not want to prescribe and/or do not have a Standard Care Arrangement – primarily those in QI, Infection Control, Education, Research, etc. who are in danger of losing their CNS status because of this bill’s passage.

The event is June 20th at Lourdes University in Sylvania, OH from 5:30-6:30pm.

You do not have to be a member of any organization – free to all but  preregistration is required.

1st Annual GIM Conference

The University of Cincinnati is hosting the 1st Annual General Internal Medicine Conference: Updates Every General Practitioner Needs to Know on Saturday, September 9th, 2017.  This one day conference will highlight advances in topics such as diabetes, hypertension, pain management, hyperlipidemia, novel anticoagulants, perioperative risk, as well as an evidence based decision making to reduce waste and increase value.  Short, didactic sessions, case based learning, small group discussion will all be utilized to provide an exciting exchange of ideas among learner!  In the process, attendees will experience best practices for knowledge acquisition and retention.
